This year experience the city of Leeds like never before with an exciting programme of curated events designed to let culture loose. LEEDS 2023 is working with local, national and international artists and communities to create a celebration that’s for Leeds, with Leeds and inspired by Leeds.
Aiming to unlock opportunities for everyone through participating in creative activity, boost engagement in culture, lead and showcase cultural transformation and play an active role in the city and region’s social, economic, and cultural recovery from the pandemic, LEEDS 2023 will be a transformational year like no other.

Why we joined Without Walls
LEEDS 2023’s Year of Culture will ensure all the city’s residents can access and experience this across a diverse programme that embraces all sorts of cultural activity and art-forms. LEEDS 2023’s partnership with Without Walls will help put outdoor art at the heart of our summer programme. We are excited to be joining the network and supporting UK artists to bring the best outdoor shows to the neighbourhoods and communities of Leeds.
Leeds 2023
LEEDS 2023 will see the city of Leeds burst into life, fuelled by creativity and the aim of opening more opportunities for more people. From brand new shows, bringing to life over 1000 stories from people across the city, to sound walks through the streets of Leeds and a magical moving observatory. From re-imagined Mexican Day of the Dead celebrations to Finnish Saunas. This year promises to be an explosion of creativity through music, exhibitions, performance and discussion that will bring to life hidden stories in the city.
