Audience Development in a Hybrid World

Audience Development

Exploring strategies for Audience Development in 2021 with The Audience Agency

2020 saw many of our festival partners increase their digital engagement as a means to stay connected with their audiences and reach out to their vulnerable communities throughout the pandemic. On 9 February 2021, we hosted an online training session in partnership with The Audience Agency to support Without Walls partners who are planning to deliver outreach activity where delivery is a combination of both digital and physical – a hybrid offer.

The session was hosted by Penny Mills from the Audience Agency who guided partners through a hybrid audience development framework. Partners were given a platform to explore the various forms of delivery for achieving audience development outcomes and shared their experiences on the clear gains and losses of digital engagement and practical tips and guidance on why digital, who for and how.

The webinar also showcased recent audience development projects from Arts By The Sea Festival and Severn Arts who shared their experience of delivering hybrid projects with their communities.
