General Resources
A webinar exploring the emerging new approaches to curating and programming outdoor events following the COVID-19 outbreak
Without Walls and Arts by The Sea Festival on Wednesday 7 October hosted The journey back to the outdoors: Programming Outdoor Arts events in times of COVID-19 webinar which explored the emerging new approaches to curating and programming outdoor events following the COVID-19 outbreak.
This session was part of a wider body of work looking at safe ways of returning outdoor arts to our towns and cities. You can find a recording of a previous webinar, Delivering COVID-secure Outdoor Events, here.
This session is organised as a timely opportunity to reflect on alternative festival models which programmers are taking forwards, following the delivery of the reformatted Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival (25 September – 4 October), Newham Unlocked (14-16 August) and Greenwich+Docklands International Festival (28 August – 12 September).
The session also invited two artists to talk about their creative responses to the new context.
Speakers include:
- Amy Grundy, Creative Coordinator, Arts By The Sea Festival / From the Fields
- Bradley Hemmings MBE, Artistic Director, FESTIVAL.ORG / Greenwich+Docklands International Festival
- Clive Lyttle, Artistic Director, Certain Blacks
- Luke Jerram, Artist
- Vicki Amedume, Artistic Director, Upswing
