BOING

An image of a male performer wearing a suit, face paint and glasses surrounded by a crowd. There is a puff of white smoke behind him.

BOING is a character who makes noises but never speaks. His whole body is full of sound that’s literally bursting to get out, be it from his fingers or his feet. A cheeky chap with an insatiable curiosity for the world around him, BOING invites you to see & hear the world from his own unique perspective. A show for all ages combining humour with pathos.

BOING is an understated, non-verbal outdoor show combining sound effects & with exaggerated physical performance. While the central character never speaks he is full of noises & every action has a different sonic consequence be it his footsteps sounding like explosions or handshakes of static interference. This is possible by a series of concealed speakers in the costume of the performer which are then wirelessly triggered by the observing technician. The result allows for a series of choreographed sequences as well as the ability to improvise on the fly. A show for all ages combining humour with pathos.
