Captive
by Motionhouse
Circus, Dance, Aerial

Four performers use a dynamic blend of dance, acrobatics and aerial work inside a large cage. Disorientated and shaken, they use their skill and instinct to survive in this emotionally charged and athletic piece.
Inspired by Rainer Maria Rilke’s poem The Panther, this powerfully emotional and highly physical outdoor show explores notions of captivity. Part of the Motionhouse outdoor touring repertoire since 2013, Captive remains a hugely popular show with audiences.
Audience feedback:
“Excellent – powerful performance – really got a sense of their struggle for their freedom”
“Brilliant. Dynamic. Executed with precision. Kept me, my 6 and 4 year olds captivated!”
“Utterly mesmerising – absolutely loved it!!”
“Powerful, took my breath away in parts.”
“Absolutely amazing! Loved the aerial routines and dramatic character of the show. Clever choreography.”
