Pitch Up

The Velcro Collective

Family, Installation, Theatre

The Velcro Collective (TVC) has been researching & developing a new piece of work celebrating diversity and difference through physically driven dance theatre, funded by an Arts Council Elevate fund that aimed to continue the visibility and advocacy of Inclusive Arts practice in Gloucestershire.

The result is Pitch Up, a series of vignettes that explore the highs and lows of British camping trips. This fun show will engage with audiences in a relaxed way using curiosity, humour and human experience as the touchpoints and employing physical storytelling and Audio Description to help more diverse audiences access the work.

About The Velcro Collective

The Velcro Collective (TVC) is made up of Creatives and Producers whose experience lies predominantly in the Inclusive Arts & Diversity Sector specialising in Dance, Theatre and Participatory Arts. Our aim is to create high-quality accessible performance work that shares and celebrates our diversity and to create a culture of creative practice where the diversity of everyone’s needs are recognised and accommodated from a place of equality and fairness.

The company wants audiences to experience diverse performers in a way that does not make a focus of disability or difference instead of having the opportunity to just enjoying a shared experience. TVC makes work for family audiences as it wants neuro-diverse children to experience parity with their neuro-typical counterparts from an early age.
