Without Walls 2023 Review
20 December 2023
We are fast approaching the end of 2023, which provides the perfect opportunity to look back on the last 12 months.
The year started with the announcement that XTRAX would be stepping away from their management role with the network and the appointment of our new Director, Ralph Kennedy. This was followed in February by our first-ever Festival Forum and the appointment of a new Touring Network Partners and Creative Development Network cohort.
The summer saw one of our most exciting artistic programmes of recent years, with 13 new shows of all genres and scale premiering at our Artistic Directorate festivals. Our Touring Network partners presented over 28 different shows from our back catalogue, reaching audiences of over 79,000 people.
We finished 2023 with the Green Forum in October and a Symposium on Co-creation in November, both of which were held at 101 Outdoor Arts.
To acknowledge this remarkable year, we have created a Without Walls 2023 review. It explores our commissioned works over the last 12 months alongside artist development schemes, Blueprint and Discover.
We extend heartfelt gratitude to the artists who lent their creative brilliance to the 2023 programme, producing a body of work that will endure well beyond this year. Equally, we thank our partners, for your unwavering efforts in bringing these shows to life.
‘We are connected and part of a commissioning programme that is greater than the sum of its parts in many ways.’
