Inspirate
Inspirate shapes, nurtures and platforms the evolution of contemporary South Asian arts, ensuring that South Asian artistry and talent is an integral and visible part of the arts sector, weaved into the fabric of UK culture.
Our work centres upon the South Asian diaspora, examining the ever shifting dialogue between heritage, roots, migration and intersecting identities. At the heart of our work is the creative alchemy, artistic richness and critical thinking that the diasporic experience inspires within South Asian artists and communities.
Our flagship festival is An Indian Summer, platforming contemporary South Asian creativity across a vibrant combined arts programme. Our festival is open to all, creating a shared space for people from all backgrounds to collectively engage in culture.
Why we joined Without Walls
‘Our journey with Without Walls has developed from being part of the Creative Development Network, to touring Ancient Giants last year, and now joining the Artistic Directorate. Joining the AD is an exciting time for Inspirate and we’re delighted to embark upon this next step. It’s an opportunity for us to jointly explore change and innovation within the outdoor arts sector, with diversity and inclusion sitting authentically at the heart of this partnership.’

Impact on Local Communities
As a new NPO for 2023-26, we have ambitious plans for the coming years, including: touring our street theatre show, Ancient Giants, where ancient stories from South Asia are brought to life in a visual spectacle of giant puppetry, martial arts and dance, developing our flagship festival An Indian Summer and working closely with Leicester City Council to transform one of the biggest Diwali celebrations outside of India into a world-class festival of outdoor arts.
